What it does
Aspire is a toolkit for running several services together (APIs, frontends, databases, workers) from one orchestrator project called the AppHost. With this skill installed, the agent knows Aspire's CLI commands, project templates, service discovery, integrations, dashboard, MCP setup and deployment options, and can load detailed reference notes when a task needs them. It can scaffold an AppHost, wire services together, and help diagnose startup errors.
Great for
- Developers building multi-container or polyglot apps (for example .NET plus Python or Node) who want an agent to set up Aspire
- Teams deploying Aspire apps to Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps or App Service who need a guided path
- Developers troubleshooting Aspire diagnostic codes or service startup ordering
Skip it if
- People who have no interest in .NET: the AppHost itself is a .NET project, and installing the SDK is required even for Python or JavaScript workloads
- Production deployment decisions made without review: the skill's guidance is a summary and may be out of date relative to Aspire releases
Try asking
- “Create a new Aspire starter app with an ASP.NET Core API and a React frontend”
- “Add a Redis cache and a Postgres database to my AppHost and connect them to the API”
- “Why does my Aspire app fail at startup with a diagnostic error? Help me troubleshoot it”
- “Show me how to deploy this Aspire app to Azure Container Apps”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip aspire.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip aspire.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Tell the agent your Aspire CLI version first (aspire --version), since docs-search tools exist only in 13.2 and later
- Ask the agent to load the specific reference file for your task, such as deployment or troubleshooting, rather than the whole set
- Review install commands before running them: the skill points to curl and PowerShell install scripts from aspire.dev
