What it does

This skill teaches an AI coding agent to organize software work like a small team. It defines three roles (a producer who scopes and coordinates, a developer who implements and opens pull requests, and an optional QA role that tests behavior) and a plan-implement-test-merge workflow scaled to the task size. It also tells the agent to keep a PROJECT_BRIEF.md and plan notes so work can be picked up again in a later session, and to brainstorm competing perspectives for bigger product or architecture decisions.

Great for

  • Developers adopting an existing repository who want an agent to map its stack and commands before changing code
  • Solo developers running multi-step features who want plans and handoff notes kept in the repo
  • Teams that want a lightweight, proportionate process rather than heavy ceremony

Skip it if

  • Simple one-off edits or quick scripts, where the planning and role structure adds overhead without benefit
  • Non-developers looking for a general writing or research helper, since the content is specific to software project workflows
  • Projects that need a fixed, audited process: the skill leaves merge rules to repository settings and judgment, so outcomes depend on the agent following its instructions

Try asking

  • “Read this repository, figure out its stack and commands, and create a PROJECT_BRIEF.md for it”
  • “Plan the work for adding CSV export to the reports page using a short sprint plan”
  • “Brainstorm two or three architecture options for moving our auth system, with distinct perspectives”
  • “Write a context-recovery note so I can resume this refactor tomorrow in a new session”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 5 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ai-team-orchestration.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ai-team-orchestration.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ai-team-orchestration.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Point the agent at a real task so it can choose a proportionate level of planning rather than producing artifacts for their own sake
  • Keep PROJECT_BRIEF.md and plan files under version control so they survive across sessions and machines
  • Review the agent's plan and pull request before merging; the skill relies on your repository's branch protection and checks for merge safety
