What it does
When installed, an AI agent that hits errors in Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (Agent Gateway, Agent Registry, Agent Identity, policies, Model Armor, and Identity-Aware Proxy) will read the skill's bundled reference notes and follow its playbook to diagnose the problem. It also contains strict pre-flight rules that make the agent refuse some requests, such as generic Compute Engine or Cloud Storage permission questions, and that dictate exact answers for certain registry and Cloud Run scenarios.
Great for
- Engineers running AI agents on Google Cloud's Agent Platform who see 403 egress errors or 500 errors from Agent Runtime
- Platform teams configuring Agent Registry services and endpoints for Google APIs
- Developers debugging gateway or IAP log permission errors in agent deployments
Skip it if
- General IAM or Cloud Storage access problems unrelated to the Agent Platform: the skill's own rules tell the agent to decline these
- Anyone who wants the agent to write custom discovery scripts: the skill forbids this and the rules override normal agent behaviour, so it may refuse useful help
- Production changes made without review: the skill recommends creating or updating authorization policies and registry entries, which can affect live traffic and security
Try asking
- “My agent gets a 403 egress error when calling an MCP server on Cloud Run. How do I fix it?”
- “Agent Runtime queries are returning 500 errors. Help me find the cause.”
- “Our Agent Gateway logs show permission errors for telemetry.mtls.googleapis.com. What should I check?”
- “How should I register Google APIs in Agent Registry for my agents?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review every gcloud or REST command the agent proposes before running it, especially those that create registry services or authorization policies.
- Make sure the agent reads the referenced attribution file first, since the skill requires it, and check whether the agent's refusals match your actual question.
- Provide exact error text, project, region, and gateway logs so the agent can match your issue to the reference notes.
