What it does

Once installed, the agent can review an AI agent project's code and documentation against the ten OWASP Agentic Security Initiative risks, such as prompt injection, unsafe tool use, excessive permissions, and missing audit logs. For each risk it looks for evidence of a protective control and reports whether the project appears to cover it, then produces a summary such as how many of the ten are covered. The skill is a checklist and search guide, so its verdicts are heuristic pattern matches rather than a full security assessment.

Great for

  • Developers preparing an agent system for production who want a structured security review
  • Security reviewers who need a first-pass checklist before a formal audit
  • Teams comparing how an agent framework's security features map to the OWASP ASI list

Skip it if

  • Replacing a professional penetration test or certified audit, because the checks are keyword and pattern searches that can give false passes or false failures
  • Projects that are not agent systems (plain chatbots or LLM apps without tool access), since the risks described do not apply to them

Try asking

  • “Is my agent OWASP compliant? Check the code in this repository against the ASI Top 10.”
  • “Run an agentic security audit on this project and generate a report I can share with the security team.”
  • “Map our existing controls to the 10 agentic risks and tell me which ones have no coverage.”
  • “Compare our agent framework's security features against the OWASP ASI standard.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Agent OWASP ASI Compliance CheckInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    agent-owasp-compliance.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agent-owasp-compliance.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agent-owasp-compliance.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Point the agent at the root of the project so the scans cover all source files, not a single module.
  • Treat keyword matches as leads to verify by reading the code; a control named in a comment or string may not actually be enforced.
  • Ask for the report to list the specific files and lines behind each pass or fail so findings can be checked.
