How to use the Wowerpoint agent skill: one document to slide deck
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
Wowerpoint is an agent skill, a packaged set of instructions and scripts that an AI agent such as Claude can load and follow. This guide is for people who may never have used a skill before. You will learn what the skill does, how to install it, how to ask for a deck in plain language, and what it needs and touches on your machine. Once set up, you can point the agent at one document and get back a link to a kawaii-style slide deck built in Google's NotebookLM.
Quick start
- 1Download and unzip. Download the wowerpoint ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder.
- 2Check prerequisites. Make sure uv, jq and a Google account are available. Install jq with brew install jq on macOS if it is missing.
- 3Install the NotebookLM tool. Let the agent run the uv tool install command and Playwright Chromium install from the skill's setup section.
- 4Log in yourself. When asked, type ! notebooklm login in your terminal and complete the Google sign-in.
- 5Make your request. Ask something like "Turn this report into slides" and name the document file.
- 6Open the deck. Follow the printed notebook link and wait for the NotebookLM notification that the deck is ready.
What the wowerpoint skill makes the agent do
The skill takes one document and turns it into a slide deck with a warm, kawaii (cute Japanese style) look and a narrative flow. It works through Google's NotebookLM service. The agent sets up the required command-line tool, creates a notebook, uploads your document, and starts slide generation, then gives you a link to the notebook.
The skill produces slide decks only. Videos and podcasts are out of scope. If you want those, the source says to use the notebooklm command-line tool directly.
- Input: one source document
- Output: a NotebookLM slide deck, reachable through a notebook link
- Style: kawaii look, story-style flow, set through the prompt text
Install the wowerpoint skill
Download the wowerpoint ZIP from this page and unzip it. The skill's files, including SKILL.md, should end up in a folder named wowerpoint. Put that folder in one of these locations:
You can also install it in the Claude apps by uploading the skill under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- Personal skills folder: ~/.claude/skills/
- Project-only: the .claude/skills/ folder inside your project
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload
Set up the required tools once per machine
The skill needs uv (a Python tool installer), the notebooklm-py package with Playwright and Chromium, and jq (a JSON parser). The agent runs the setup commands from the skill, but you can check whether the tools are already present first. If the notebooklm auth check command succeeds and jq is found on your PATH, setup can be skipped.
jq is installed with brew install jq on macOS, or with your Linux distribution's package manager.
- uv: installs the notebooklm-py tool
- notebooklm-py with Playwright and Chromium: drives the NotebookLM steps
- jq: parses the JSON responses
- A Google account to log in to NotebookLM
- Internet access to NotebookLM
uv tool install --with playwright --force notebooklm-py
$(uv tool dir)/notebooklm-py/bin/playwright install chromiumLog in to NotebookLM yourself
Authentication is interactive and the agent does not script it. When the agent reaches this step, it will ask you to type the login command in your own terminal so that the sign-in confirmation goes to you, not to the agent. The agent checks authentication with notebooklm auth check. If the check fails, the agent stops and tells you to log in.
- Type ! notebooklm login in the terminal prompt when asked
- Complete the Google sign-in in the browser flow
notebooklm auth check 2>&1 | tail -5Ask for a deck with natural requests
You do not need special syntax. The skill's description lists the phrases it responds to, and you can phrase requests in similar words. The agent will treat the file you name as the single source.
If your document is thin, the skill tells the agent to write a longer, more comprehensive version first rather than adding more sources. If you supply your own prompt, the agent passes it through unchanged.
- "Wowerpoint <file>"
- "Make a slide deck about <file>"
- "Turn this report into slides"
- "Kawaii-deck this"
What happens during a run
The agent checks authentication, creates a notebook titled after your document's H1 heading or filename, adds the document as the only source, and starts generation with a default prompt. The default prompt asks for kawaii characters that tell the story of your subject. When the agent finishes its turn, it prints the notebook URL. NotebookLM sends you a notification when the deck is ready.
If generation is rate-limited for a long time, the source suggests waiting 5 to 10 minutes or opening the notebook in the NotebookLM web interface and starting generation there. Once a notebook and source exist, you can regenerate with a different prompt without re-uploading.
Safety notes: scripts, network and sensitive documents
This skill runs scripts and uses the network. Your document is uploaded to a Google service, so the source advises confirming before adding anything with credentials, customer data, or unreleased product information. Do not use it for those documents.
The skill also excludes multi-source decks. It is built for exactly one source document, so combining several files is not supported.
- Do not upload credentials, customer data or unreleased product information
- Expect scripts to run and network traffic to NotebookLM
- Use one document per deck
What people use it for
- Turning a long internal report into a story-style deck to share with a team
- Creating a quick visual summary of one long write-up or article
- Making a shareable deck from a single document you already wrote
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the wowerpoint skill?
Download the wowerpoint ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder for one project. You can also upload it in the Claude apps under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
What do I need to run wowerpoint?
You need uv, the notebooklm-py package with Playwright and Chromium, jq, a Google account for NotebookLM login, and internet access. The skill's setup section lists the install commands.
Is wowerpoint free?
The source does not state pricing for the skill. It is published under the Apache-2.0 licence. NotebookLM is a Google service, so check its own terms for any account or usage conditions.
Can wowerpoint make videos or podcasts?
No. The skill is slide-deck only and explicitly excludes video and podcast output. For those, the source suggests using the notebooklm command-line tool directly.
Can I combine several documents into one deck?
No. The skill is built for exactly one source document. If the document is too thin, the agent writes a longer version rather than adding more sources.
Why does my deck generation fail with a rate-limit error?
The skill retries transient failures twice. If the rate limit persists, the source advises waiting 5 to 10 minutes or triggering generation in the NotebookLM web interface using the notebook URL.

Our verdict
Wowerpoint suits people who already use Google accounts and NotebookLM and want a shareable, story-style slide deck from one non-sensitive document. It is a poor fit for confidential or customer material, for multi-source decks, or for anyone who needs video or podcast output.
