What it does

When you give the agent a reference video of a website, app, or motion design, this skill makes it analyse the video's timeline, layout, animations, colours, and typography, then write one long build prompt that describes how to recreate it without seeing the video. It can also produce an article, an asset list, or an implementation plan. It works from video frames sampled with standard tools, so the output is a written spec rather than a copy of the original.

Great for

  • Front-end developers who want to rebuild a scroll-driven or animated landing page from a screen recording
  • Designers who need precise written motion specs to hand to a developer or AI builder
  • Content creators writing up a breakdown of a web interaction

Skip it if

  • Copying a site's exact code or assets: the skill describes the design and does not extract source files, and reusing someone else's visuals may infringe copyright
  • Videos you cannot legally use as a reference, since the skill analyses them frame by frame and the prompt may reproduce their look closely
  • Quick questions with no video involved, because the workflow is built around a video input

Try asking

  • “Here is a screen recording of a product page with scroll-triggered sections. Write a superprompt to rebuild it in React and GSAP.”
  • “Analyse this video and list the animation timings and easing for each section.”
  • “Turn this promo video into a paste-ready prompt with an asset map and reduced-motion fallbacks.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Video to SuperpromptInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 7 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    video-to-superprompt.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip video-to-superprompt.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip video-to-superprompt.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Provide the exact video file or URL and, if you want exact recreation, the source HTML/CSS/JS, so the agent has more to work from.
  • Ask for the 'implementation brief' or 'asset-generation pack' output mode if you need more than a single prompt.
  • Check the generated asset map and any placeholder names before using them, since the skill marks missing assets rather than inventing them.
