What it does
This skill gives an AI agent a detailed playbook for the Vercel command line tool, so it can deploy web projects, read logs and build errors, manage environment variables, domains, firewall rules and feature flags, and work with the Vercel platform on your behalf. It tells the agent to confirm which Vercel project and team a command will affect before changing anything, and to stop and ask you rather than linking projects or logging in on its own. The agent still needs the Vercel CLI installed and authenticated on your machine to do real work.
Great for
- Developers who deploy Next.js or other frontend projects to Vercel and want an agent to run deploys and read build logs
- Teams with monorepos who need the agent to pick the correct linked project before making changes
- Engineers debugging failed Vercel builds or production errors who want faster log and trace inspection
Skip it if
- People who do not use Vercel, since the skill only covers that platform
- Use on production projects without reviewing commands first, because deploys, environment variable changes, DNS and firewall edits affect live services and can be hard to undo
- Shared or multi-project repositories without an explicit project link, because the agent may act on the wrong project
Try asking
- “Deploy the current app as a preview and give me the URL”
- “Why did the last production build fail? Pull the build logs and summarise the error”
- “List the environment variables for this project's production environment and flag any that look missing”
- “Show the firewall rules and rate limits set on this Vercel project”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip vercel-cli.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip vercel-cli.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run vercel project inspect in the directory you intend to target and check the owner and project name before asking for deploys or changes
- For monorepos, use vercel link --repo rather than a single project link so the right project is chosen
- Ask the agent to show the exact command before it runs any mutation such as deploy, env change, DNS or firewall edit
