What it does

Once installed, the agent can read your personal TELOS files (life goals, beliefs, strategies, wrong-beliefs and similar notes) kept in a folder on your computer, and make changes to them through a tool that takes timestamped backups and writes a changelog line. It can also scan a project folder of .md and .csv files to map dependencies from problems to goals to strategies to projects, find bottlenecks, and produce a report, narrative, or a Next.js dashboard.

Great for

  • People who already keep a TELOS-style personal goals and beliefs folder and want an agent to read and maintain it
  • Project leads who want a dependency and alignment analysis of a folder of planning documents
  • Developers who want a starter Next.js dashboard that reads and edits those markdown files

Skip it if

  • Anyone wanting a conversational constitutional review; the skill says that job belongs to the separate Interview skill
  • Sensitive personal material shared outward without review: the skill itself notes TELOS content must never leave the private tree, and the dashboard can expose it through a local web app
  • Users who do not understand the TELOS framework; the skill assumes its file layout and will be of little use without it

Try asking

  • “Add a new book and a strategy update to my TELOS, with a backup first”
  • “Analyze ~/Projects/my-project and show the dependency chain from problems to projects as a Mermaid diagram”
  • “Build a dashboard for my planning folder and show bottlenecks and risk areas”
  • “Create an executive summary of the alignment between my project files and my stated goals”
Step-by-step guide: how to use TELOS Life Goals and Project AnalysisInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    Telos.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip Telos.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip Telos.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Back up your ~/.claude/LIFEOS/USER/TELOS folder yourself before first use, and review changelog entries after each update
  • Run the dashboard only on localhost and do not expose its port, since its save and chat endpoints read and write your TELOS files
  • Point project analysis at a specific folder rather than your whole home directory to limit what is read and sent to the model
