What it does

When you ask an AI agent to write, fix, or adapt a prompt for a particular AI tool (such as an LLM, Cursor, Midjourney, or a video AI), this skill makes it act as a prompt engineer. It identifies the target tool, works out what you actually want, and returns one ready-to-paste prompt tuned to that tool, with a short note on what was optimized. It is designed to stay out of general conversation, coding, and document writing.

Great for

  • People who regularly write prompts for image, video, or coding AI tools and want better results
  • Developers building prompts for Claude or other LLMs who want tool-specific templates and guidance
  • Non-experts who have a rough idea and need it turned into a precise, structured prompt

Skip it if

  • Tasks that are not prompt writing, since the skill is designed to stay inactive for them and the agent may otherwise produce unverified guidance
  • Situations needing current model details: the file says model names and settings change quickly and must be verified against official documentation, which the agent may not be able to do
  • Anyone expecting guaranteed results, since the output still depends on the target tool and the quality of your request

Try asking

  • “Write a prompt for Midjourney that generates a watercolor product illustration of a ceramic mug”
  • “Improve this rough request so Cursor refactors my React component without changing its behaviour”
  • “Adapt my marketing brief into a prompt for an LLM that drafts a product launch email with a [TONE] and [AUDIENCE]”
  • “Fix this prompt I use for a video AI tool so the clips follow my storyboard more closely”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Prompt MasterInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    prompt-master.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip prompt-master.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip prompt-master.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Name the target tool up front (for example Claude, Cursor, or Midjourney); the skill will ask if it is unclear and will not produce a prompt without it.
  • Give the output format, length, and audience where you can, since these shape the final prompt.
  • For model-specific settings, ask the agent to check current official documentation, and treat unverified details with caution.
