What it does

This skill makes an AI agent keep its working memory in Markdown files saved on disk, such as task_plan.md, findings.md and progress.md, instead of relying only on the chat history. Lifecycle hooks can inject the relevant project plan into the agent's context and check whether phases are complete before it stops. It is written in Spanish and is meant for research or work needing five or more tool calls.

Great for

  • Developers running long multi-step coding or research tasks with an AI agent who want progress tracked across sessions
  • Teams that want a plan file per task, with orchestrator and worker roles for parallel work
  • Spanish-speaking users who want the planning templates and messages in Spanish

Skip it if

  • Short one-off questions, where the plan files add overhead without benefit
  • Environments where you do not want shell scripts run automatically by hooks, since the hooks execute scripts on every prompt and tool call
  • Sensitive projects if you enable session-history inspection, because it can read local metadata and, on explicit request, limited transcript excerpts from other sessions of the same project

Try asking

  • “Plan a multi-file refactor of this project and track each phase in task_plan.md”
  • “Research a topic across many sources and record findings in findings.md as you go”
  • “Resume yesterday's task by reading the plan files and checking git diff for uncommitted changes”
  • “Attest the finished plan so hooks warn if someone edits it later”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Planning with Files (Spanish)Install, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    planning-with-files-es.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip planning-with-files-es.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip planning-with-files-es.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Install to the user-level path (~/.claude/skills/planning-with-files-es) so the hook scripts are found automatically; otherwise set PWF_SCRIPT_DIR
  • Review the scripts in the scripts folder before installing, since the hooks run them on every prompt, tool call and stop event
  • Use attest-plan.sh after finalising a plan so unexpected edits are flagged as tampering
