What it does

Once installed, when you ask the agent to build a talk from a completed paper, it follows a multi-step workflow: it drafts a claim-first slide outline, builds Beamer and PowerPoint decks, polishes each slide, writes speaker notes and a talk script, and optionally runs checks for unsupported claims, citation problems and anonymity leaks before exporting a final report. It is designed to use only content already in the paper and to keep the original deck and paper unchanged.

Great for

  • Researchers preparing a conference talk (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR and similar) who want a complete talk artifact rather than just a slide deck
  • Lab members preparing a seminar or workshop talk from an existing paper directory
  • Authors preparing an anonymous submission who want an anonymity check on their slides

Skip it if

  • People without a compiled paper in a paper/ folder, since the workflow reads paper sources and does not write new research content (the paper must already be in good shape)
  • Anyone wanting only a quick single slide deck, because this is an end-to-end pipeline that pauses for approval at each phase and is heavier than a simple slide tool
  • Cases where unverified claims must not appear in slides without review, unless the conference-ready assurance level is used, since lower levels skip the claim and citation audits

Try asking

  • “做 talk: build a spotlight conference talk from paper/ with 15 minutes and assurance conference-ready”
  • “Create an end-to-end slides pipeline for my NeurIPS paper with a why-rf style preset”
  • “Run the talk pipeline in draft mode for an internal practice talk of 10 minutes”
  • “Make an anonymous conference-ready talk from my paper directory and check for identity leaks”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Paper Talk PipelineInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    paper-talk.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip paper-talk.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip paper-talk.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Make sure paper/main.tex compiles and the paper is final before running, since the pipeline treats it as read-only source material.
  • Use the default polished or conference-ready levels for important talks, and review each approval pause rather than setting automatic proceeding.
  • Provide a reference PDF with the reference argument if you want the visual style to match a particular talk.
