What it does

Once installed, when you ask the agent for slides or a talk for a finished paper, it builds a presentation in two forms: a LaTeX Beamer deck compiled to PDF, plus an editable PowerPoint file. It sizes the deck to your talk length and venue style, adds speaker notes, and writes a full talk script. It can also use a second AI reviewer to critique the slides.

Great for

  • Researchers preparing a conference oral, spotlight or lightning talk from a compiled paper
  • Students who need a first draft of a thesis or seminar talk from an existing manuscript
  • Authors who want speaker notes and a script alongside the slides

Skip it if

  • Posters or single-page visual summaries, which are a different workflow (the file points to a separate poster skill)
  • Papers that are not yet written or compiled, since the skill expects a finished paper as input
  • Final submission-ready talks without human review, because generated claims and figures must be checked against the paper

Try asking

  • “Make slides for a 15-minute oral talk from the paper in paper/”
  • “做PPT for my spotlight presentation with 8 minutes of speaking time”
  • “Write a talk script and speaker notes for an ICML presentation, 4:3 aspect ratio”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Paper Slides GeneratorInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    paper-slides.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip paper-slides.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip paper-slides.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Compile your paper first and point the skill at its directory so it has the real results to draw from.
  • Set the talk type and minutes explicitly so the slide count matches your slot.
  • Review every claim and number against the paper before presenting; the generated script is a draft.
