What it does

Once installed, the agent acts as a human-style editor for your drafts. By default it makes minimal edits that cut stock AI phrasing, filler, vague claims and empty qualifiers, keeps your voice and opinions, and returns the revised draft with a short What changed list. If you only want a check, it can instead point out specific AI-sounding patterns, quote each line, and suggest a quick fix without rewriting anything.

Great for

  • Writers who want a rough draft to sound more direct and less generic while still sounding like them
  • Anyone who wants a line-by-line list of AI-style patterns in their text before publishing
  • Marketers and newsletter writers polishing posts before they go out

Skip it if

  • Getting a reliable answer on whether a piece was written by AI: the skill explicitly avoids guessing authorship, and AI detectors are unreliable
  • Fact-checking or adding claims: it is designed to keep your meaning and not invent stats or examples, but it cannot verify facts

Try asking

  • “Edit this draft so it sounds sharper and more like me, keep my casual tone: [paste draft]”
  • “Scan this post and flag any AI-slop patterns, quoting each line with a fix, but don't rewrite it”
  • “Make this product announcement more concrete and cut the filler phrases”
Step-by-step guide: how to use No AI Slop EditorInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    no-ai-slop.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip no-ai-slop.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip no-ai-slop.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Say who the piece is for and where it will be published so the edits fit the audience; the skill will ask if you don't.
  • Ask for detect mode when you want to review changes yourself rather than accept a rewrite.
  • Check the What changed notes and keep any edits that remove meaning-carrying specifics you intended.
