What it does

This skill helps an agent inspect and maintain a LifeOS plugin that runs inside Claude Code and can draw small status lines and banners in the terminal. Once installed, the agent can confirm whether the plugin is loaded, explain why a line did or did not appear, regenerate type declarations after a Claude Code update, and keep copied helper modules in sync with their sources. It is aimed at maintainers of that plugin, not general end users.

Great for

  • Maintainers of the LifeOS hook plugin who need to debug missing banners or hook-drawn lines
  • Developers upgrading Claude Code who need to regenerate plugin type declarations and run the typecheck and tests

Skip it if

  • Users who want a general productivity or dashboard tool: the skill excludes the Pulse dashboard and Relay diagnostics, and its scope is narrow
  • Anyone without the LifeOS repository layout: the skill assumes the plugin directory, bun, and Claude Code are present, and would not be useful standalone
  • Editing live hook code casually: the skill warns that adding diagnostic output to the live module can flood a user's session transcript

Try asking

  • “Is the LifeOS function-hook plugin loaded and working in this session?”
  • “Why didn't the memory line draw in my last session?”
  • “Claude Code just updated, regenerate the plugin types and run the tests.”
  • “Run the headless probe for the LifeOS hooks plugin and report any failed-to-load errors.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use LifeOS Function HooksInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    LifeOSHooks.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip LifeOSHooks.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip LifeOSHooks.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Load the plugin with claude plugin validate and the headless probe before reporting it as working, and ask for the evidence (session stamp, build file, debug log).
  • Run /reload-plugins before checking a change in an open session, since saves may not be reflected until a reload.
  • Keep the test suite run inside the plugin directory, not the install root, to avoid EMFILE errors.
