What it does

Lets the agent produce a short video made entirely from code (animation, graphics, and optionally narration and music) in one of the library's named styles, such as oil painting, watercolor, ukiyo-e, satellite briefing, or product teardown. It also helps you pick a style, create your own, or cut a new film from archive footage and documents. Before making the film, the agent sets up the bundled library and installs the packages it needs, then follows the library's guides to plan and render the result into a project folder.

Great for

  • Creators who want an animated explainer or promo in a distinctive visual style without hand-animating it
  • Marketers or educators making a short product teardown or science explainer from real material like CAD files or satellite imagery
  • Developers curious about generating video programmatically from code

Skip it if

  • Simply trimming, editing, or converting an existing video file, which the skill explicitly excludes
  • Users who cannot tolerate installation of many packages and large downloads, since setup pulls in Node packages, a headless browser, Python packages, and possibly speech and music models
  • Sensitive or confidential material sent to the cloud, because optional Chinese narration via edge-tts sends narration text to Microsoft's speech service

Try asking

  • “Make a 60-second promo for my bakery in the Watercolor Brush style”
  • “Turn these CAD files of my product into an Exploded Teardown explainer video”
  • “Edit a news-style short from these archive clips and documents”
  • “Help me choose a film style for a talk about renewable energy”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Lemo-Opuscar Film MakerInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 5 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    directory.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip directory.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip directory.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Let the first dependency install run in the background, since it takes a few minutes the first time
  • Decline edge-tts unless you are comfortable with narration text being sent to Microsoft
  • Keep your own styles in ~/lemo-my-styles/ so they survive updates; the working library lives in ~/.lemo-opuscar
