What it does

When you describe a goal in one sentence, this skill makes the AI first inspect your codebase (and search the web if needed), asks up to five focused questions, then writes a detailed brief of at most 4000 characters. You paste that brief into a separate agent's goal mode, and that agent works through the project on its own. The skill also plans how you will check the result afterwards, including anti-cheating checks, progress notes so work can resume, and a rule for splitting big jobs across several agents in parallel.

Great for

  • Developers who want an agent to run a multi-step project unattended and need a precise, verifiable brief
  • Non-experts who have an idea but do not know how to write a clear task specification for an AI agent
  • Teams wanting to split a large job across several parallel agents with clear boundaries

Skip it if

  • Quick one-off questions or small edits, where the brief overhead is unnecessary
  • Tasks with no way to verify success, since the skill relies on commands that can be run to check the result
  • Work where the brief will be executed without human review, because the skill itself notes that agents can misreport or game tests and the user must verify results

Try asking

  • “Help me write a goal for an agent to migrate our test suite to the new framework”
  • “Break this idea down in detail so an agent can run the project on its own”
  • “Write a brief for an agent to research and choose between three database options”
  • “Split this refactor into parallel tasks for several agents”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    leader.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip leader.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip leader.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Answer the up-to-five questions with a clear preference, since the skill uses your answers to set direction and risk tolerance
  • Read the three key items the skill highlights before pasting: why the work matters, the decisions it made for you, and the two hard completion criteria
  • After the executing agent finishes, ask the skill to run the verification commands and give you a short plain-language report
