What it does

Once installed, the agent helps you prepare for one specific job interview using only your real experience. It builds story bank answers mapped to the skills the employer tests, writes a company and role brief from public sources with links and dates, predicts likely questions, drafts opening, why-us, weakness and salary answers, and prepares questions to ask plus a logistics checklist. After the interview it runs a debrief to help with the next round.

Great for

  • Job seekers with an interview coming up in hours or days
  • Career changers who need to turn past work into clear examples
  • People who want a cited summary of a company and role before talking to them

Skip it if

  • Live interviews or timed assessments where the employer bans AI help, since the skill declines live answer feeding and such use can cost an offer
  • Getting a salary number or negotiating an offer, which the skill hands off to a separate offer-negotiation skill
  • Legal questions about salary history rules or accommodations, where the skill gives only official sources and says to check current local rules

Try asking

  • “I have an interview tomorrow at a logistics company. Help me prepare.”
  • “Build my story bank in STAR format from my last three jobs.”
  • “Research the company and role and give me a cited brief with dates.”
  • “Debrief my interview and tell me what to prepare for the next round.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Interview PrepInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

    The ZIP contains the 8 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    interview-prep.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip interview-prep.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip interview-prep.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give accurate numbers and ranges for results; mark unknowns so the agent can flag them as needs number
  • Paste the job posting and company pages yourself if the agent has no browsing tool
  • Keep the prep sticky note of story titles and questions for the call instead of a full script
