What it does
When you ask which AI model is best for a job, such as coding or speech recognition, the agent queries Hugging Face's official benchmark leaderboards and model pages. It then checks each model's size and license and, if you name your hardware, keeps only models that should fit in its memory. The result is a comparison table with benchmark scores and a suggested top pick, followed by an offer to help you run it.
Great for
- Developers choosing an open model for a specific task such as coding, OCR or retrieval
- People asking which model runs well on their laptop or GPU
- Anyone wanting benchmark-based comparisons instead of marketing claims
Skip it if
- Situations where you need a guaranteed answer: the memory estimates are rough rules of thumb and leaderboard scores can be gamed or not reflect your workload
- Users who cannot share a Hugging Face token: the commands read a token from ~/.cache/huggingface/token and send it with each request
- Offline or air-gapped work, since every step queries huggingface.co
Try asking
- “What's the best model for coding that runs on my 16GB MacBook M2?”
- “Recommend a model for speech recognition, comparing benchmark scores”
- “What LLM should I use for math reasoning? Show me the top 5 with licenses”
- “Which models are state of the art for OCR on document images?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- State your task and your hardware (for example RTX 4090 with 24GB VRAM) so the size filter can be applied
- Check the leaderboard links yourself before choosing, since the table is generated from API data at the time of the query
- Ask for a specific benchmark if you care about one, so the agent focuses on the relevant leaderboards
