What it does
Once installed, the agent checks how large a web page's raw HTML is and whether it risks going past the roughly 15MB limit Googlebot documents for crawling. It flags pages over 2MB or 5MB, identifies likely causes such as big inline JSON data blocks, inline SVG, base64 images, or unminified scripts, and suggests fixes like moving data out of the page, enabling compression, and minifying output. It is a checklist-driven audit, not a live Google Search Console check.
Great for
- Front-end or SEO engineers auditing large server-rendered pages such as e-commerce product listings
- Teams investigating why part of a page's content is missing from Google's index
- Developers using Next.js who want to reduce __NEXT_DATA__ payload size
Skip it if
- Small static sites or blogs, where HTML is far below the thresholds and the advice adds little value
- Pages whose missing content is caused by JavaScript rendering, robots rules, or noindex tags rather than size; the skill does not cover those causes
- Anyone expecting it to query Google directly; the skill only reasons about the HTML and suggested commands
Try asking
- “Audit https://mysite.com/category/shoes for HTML size and tell me what is making it large”
- “Why might part of my product page not appear in Google's index? Check the HTML size”
- “Review my Next.js page for oversized __NEXT_DATA__ blocks and suggest how to trim them”
- “Give me a curl command to measure the raw HTML size of my pages and flag any over 2MB”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the exact URL or saved HTML so it can measure real byte counts rather than guess
- Ask for the Code Review checks on a specific page, then confirm the findings in Google Search Console's URL Inspection tool
- The guidance relies on a documented Googlebot limit; verify current Google documentation before acting on the exact threshold
