What it does
When an agent is planning a design, this skill makes it pick one committed visual style before building. It uses the active design system if one exists, otherwise a brand spec or reference the user supplied, otherwise it infers a fitting direction from the brief's domain, audience and tone. The agent then applies that direction's colours, fonts and spacing, and is told not to ask the user to pick from options.
Great for
- Designers who want the agent to make decisive visual choices instead of asking a list of questions
- Developers using the Open Design tool to generate consistent UI or marketing visuals from a short brief
- Teams that already maintain a design system and want new work to follow it automatically
Skip it if
- Projects where the user genuinely wants to compare several visual options, since the skill discourages offering alternatives
- Brand-sensitive work with no design system or brand spec, where an inferred direction may not match the real identity and should be reviewed
Try asking
- “Plan a landing page for a sustainable coffee brand with a clear visual direction”
- “Build a dashboard mockup for a fintech app using our existing design system”
- “Create a slide deck for a children's education startup and pick the look yourself”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide a design system, brand spec or reference screenshot to get the most faithful result, since those take priority over inference.
- State your audience and tone in the brief, because the agent infers the direction from them when no source is supplied.
- Review the stated direction line in the plan before the build starts, since backtracking later costs a full planning iteration.
