What it does

When installed, this skill gives an AI agent a structured playbook for testing the security of WiFi networks that you are authorized to assess. It walks through discovering networks, capturing WPA2 handshakes or PMKIDs for offline cracking, testing enterprise (802.1X) and WPA3 transition configurations, setting up an evil twin access point with a fake login portal, and checking whether a compromised wireless segment can reach internal systems. It also includes a Python helper script that scans for access points by sniffing beacon frames using Scapy.

Great for

  • Security professionals preparing an authorized wireless penetration test with a written scope
  • Students learning how WiFi attacks and defenses work in a lab environment
  • Blue teams wanting to validate their wireless intrusion detection and segmentation controls

Skip it if

  • Testing any WiFi network you do not own or have written permission to test, since the steps describe real attacks on credentials and clients and may be illegal otherwise
  • Jamming or deauthentication-based disruption of production networks, or any site where wireless outages could affect life-safety systems, as the skill itself warns against these

Try asking

  • “Help me plan an authorized WiFi assessment for our office's corporate and guest SSIDs, including scope and rules of engagement”
  • “Walk me through checking whether our WPA2-Personal network is vulnerable to handshake capture and offline cracking in our lab”
  • “Explain how to test whether our WPA3 transition mode can be downgraded, and what to document in the report”
  • “Check whether our guest VLAN can reach internal servers after a simulated wireless compromise”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Wireless Network Penetration TestInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    conducting-wireless-network-penetration-test.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip conducting-wireless-network-penetration-test.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip conducting-wireless-network-penetration-test.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Only run this with a signed scope document listing target SSIDs, BSSIDs and locations, and keep it in the engagement record
  • Use an isolated lab network for first runs so you can see the tools' output before touching anything near production
  • Review scripts/agent.py before running it, since it uses Scapy to capture and send wireless frames and needs root privileges on your adapter
