What it does
Once installed, the agent reviews a website's loading performance with a focus on whether text files like HTML, JavaScript and CSS are sent compressed. It checks for Content-Encoding headers showing gzip or br, and suggests enabling compression in a web server such as Nginx or Apache, or in a CDN. It is instructed to confirm the real bottleneck with DevTools, Lighthouse or field data before recommending changes.
Great for
- Front-end developers checking why a page loads slowly on mobile
- Site owners reviewing hosting or CDN settings for performance
- Teams running a performance audit against a front-end checklist
Skip it if
- Sites where the main problem is large bundles or rendering, since the skill notes compression does not fix parse and execution cost (the agent may still need other tools)
- Images, video and other binary files, which the skill does not address
- Anyone expecting it to change server settings itself; it only advises unless the user applies the fix
Try asking
- “Audit my site's HTML, JS and CSS headers and tell me if Brotli or Gzip is missing.”
- “Why is my page slow on 3G? Check whether text assets are compressed.”
- “Explain how to enable Brotli in Nginx for my static site.”
- “Review my CDN configuration for text compression and flag any files served uncompressed.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the URL or response headers so it can check Content-Encoding directly rather than guessing.
- Ask for measurements from DevTools or Lighthouse alongside the recommendation to confirm the bottleneck.
- Point it to your server type (Nginx, Apache, CDN) so the fix steps match your setup.
