What it does

When a user shares a screenshot of Claude Desktop with untranslated English text, this skill tells the agent how to find the right text keys in the app's language files, add Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) and Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) translations in the correct layers of the claude-desktop-zh-cn project, and run a script that checks whether the new phrases will actually be translated. It also documents known pitfalls, such as duplicate-word replacements that break the app, and an optional visual check procedure using computer use.

Get better results

  • Run verify_mapping.py with the exact English phrases after editing; a non-zero exit code means some phrases will not translate
  • Make sure the Claude Desktop version matches the key names, and quit the app before changing its config or re-signing it
  • Review every edit to hardcoded word lists: common words that also appear as code identifiers must go through react-intl keys instead
