What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent a specific SEO check from the Front-End Checklist: a page's canonical tag (the link that tells search engines which URL is the main version) should point directly to a page that loads without redirecting. When asked to audit a site, the agent looks at metadata, rendered HTML, structured data and HTTP response headers, flags any canonical URL that redirects elsewhere, and suggests pointing the tag to the final address. The skill's text is brief and mostly instructions; the fuller guidance lives in a reference file the agent is pointed to.
Great for
- Web developers or SEO specialists reviewing templates for canonical tag problems
- Site owners who suspect search engines are indexing the wrong version of pages after a migration or URL change
Skip it if
- Non-technical users expecting a one-click site scanner: the agent still needs access to pages or code and will reason about them rather than run a tested crawler (the skill itself contains no scripts)
- Sites where the agent cannot fetch live responses: without network access it can only check source files, which the skill warns is insufficient on its own
Try asking
- “Audit my product pages for canonical tags that point to redirecting URLs.”
- “Check the rendered HTML and HTTP response of this URL to confirm its canonical link returns 200 OK.”
- “Review our page metadata templates and tell me which routes produce canonical chains.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the exact URLs or route templates to check, so it can verify final responses rather than guessing from source.
- Ask for both the source template and the live response, since the skill recommends verifying rendered output over source files alone.
- Treat the agent's findings as a starting point and confirm critical fixes with a dedicated SEO tool or Search Console.
