What it does
This skill gives an AI coding agent a set of rules for building the item and inventory parts of a video game. When installed, the agent models items with stable IDs and typed definitions, treats every move of an item (pickup, equip, swap, sell, consume) as an all-or-nothing transaction so items cannot be duplicated or lost, and adds tests that check items are conserved across saves, migrations and edge cases.
Great for
- Game developers building or fixing inventory, loot, or equipment systems
- Teams whose game has item duplication or item loss bugs after swaps or saves
- Developers adding save migrations or drag-and-drop UI to an existing game
Skip it if
- Non-game software: the item, loot and progression rules are game-specific and would add unnecessary complexity elsewhere
- Projects that need a finished, drop-in inventory library; the skill gives guidance and patterns, not a packaged engine module
Try asking
- “Fix the bug where swapping two equipped items sometimes deletes one of them”
- “Add a stackable potion system with a max stack of 20 and save migration from version 2”
- “Write no-loss regression tests for pickup when the inventory is full”
- “Make our equipment drag-and-drop work with keyboard and touch input”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at your existing item and inventory code so it can refactor toward a single source of truth rather than writing a parallel system.
- Ask for the regression tests explicitly, since the skill emphasises conservation-of-items tests that catch silent loss.
- Review the proposed transaction logic yourself before merging, because the skill describes principles and the agent still has to adapt them to your engine and data format.
