What it does

Once installed, when you ask the agent to write a blog post, it follows a fixed workflow: it creates a dated project folder, gathers and summarises your sources (links, files, or web searches), proposes ideas and asks clarifying questions, then drafts an outline for your approval. After you approve the outline it writes a full draft with inline citations and a references list, saves it as draft-v0.1, and keeps saving numbered revisions as you give feedback. It also pauses for your approval at each stage rather than writing everything at once.

Great for

  • Bloggers who want help turning research into a structured post with sources
  • Marketers producing regular content who want a repeatable drafting process
  • Students or writers who need every statistic traced to a source

Skip it if

  • Fully automated content generation with no review, since the workflow is designed around repeated human approval
  • Posts that must rely on claims the agent cannot verify, because the skill asks for citations but does not check that sources are accurate

Try asking

  • “Write a blog post about remote work trends using these three articles: [links]”
  • “Turn my meeting notes in notes.md into a 1000-word blog post for developers”
  • “Revise draft-v0.2 of my post on TypeScript to be more casual and shorter”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Blog Draft WriterInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    blog-draft.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip blog-draft.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip blog-draft.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Provide concrete source links or files up front so the research step has solid material to work from.
  • Check every statistic and citation in the draft yourself before publishing, since the agent may misquote or misattribute sources.
  • Say early whether you want the git commit and push steps; if the folder is a repo, the skill will push to the remote by default.
