What it does
Once installed, the agent can work with network traffic recordings (pcap files) using the Scapy Python library. It can summarize which hosts and protocols appear, count TCP flags to spot possible SYN floods, check DNS queries for signs of tunneling, and export the findings as a JSON report. It can also help craft custom test packets, but only for authorized testing. The included script parses a capture file and extracts per-packet details such as IPs, ports, TTL, and flags.
Great for
- Security analysts reviewing a packet capture from an incident or lab exercise
- Students learning protocol-level traffic analysis
- Penetration testers documenting findings during an authorized engagement
Skip it if
- Monitoring or intercepting traffic on networks you do not own or have written permission to test, since packet sniffing and crafting can be illegal or harmful without authorization
- Production-grade intrusion detection, since the heuristics are simple and will produce false positives and misses
Try asking
- “Analyze this pcap file and summarize top talkers and protocol distribution”
- “Check this capture for signs of a SYN flood by looking at TCP flag ratios”
- “Look for DNS tunneling indicators in these queries based on length and entropy”
- “Export the packet analysis findings as a JSON report”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Start with offline pcap analysis rather than live sniffing, which needs elevated privileges and authorization
- Give the agent a specific question, such as a suspected attack type, so it focuses the analysis
- Review the anomaly thresholds the agent uses, since simple ratios can misclassify normal busy traffic
