What it is
This project is a set of scripts and small binaries that modify identifiers Cursor (an AI code editor) stores on your machine. According to the description, it is meant to clear messages such as trial request limits or 'too many free trial accounts used on this machine'. The README is mostly install instructions and a promotional notice for a paid API service, and it does not explain the technical mechanism in detail.
- Reset the Cursor machine identifier on Windows using the provided PowerShell script
- Run the macOS or Linux shell script to modify Cursor's stored identifiers
- Download a prebuilt binary from the releases page and run it manually
Great for
- Users on Cursor's free trial who have hit the trial request limit message
- Users on Windows, macOS, or Linux who are comfortable running a script with admin rights
- Users who want a one-line install and can read the script first
Not ideal for
- Anyone who wants a policy-compliant way to continue using Cursor; the tool works around trial limits rather than adding a legitimate plan
- Users who cannot grant administrator or sudo access, since the install scripts require elevated privileges
- Users on Cursor versions other than the latest 2.x releases, which the README says are the only supported ones
How to get it

Get the most out of it
- Read the script source in the scripts/run folder before running it
- On Windows, use the timestamped URL tip if a mirror serves an older cached script
- If the Linux script cannot find Cursor, make sure it is installed in one of the standard paths listed in the README
- Check the releases page for the latest binary matching your OS and architecture
Downloads
Strengths
- Single-command install scripts are provided for each major OS, with a China-mirror option
- Prebuilt binaries are published for several OS and architecture combinations
- Licensed under MIT, so the code can be read and inspected
Trade-offs
- The README mixes the tool with an unrelated paid API ad, which lowers trust in the project's focus
- Running remote scripts with sudo or admin rights carries risk; the README does not describe a rollback process
- Linux install depends on finding Cursor in standard paths and may fail otherwise, per the README
