What it is

Win11Debloat is a PowerShell script for Windows 10 and 11 that helps you remove preinstalled apps and change settings such as telemetry, suggestions, and some interface elements in one place instead of clicking through many menus. It needs no installation and runs through an interactive menu, with command-line options for advanced use. People use it to set up a new PC or to tidy an existing one.

  • Remove a selection of preinstalled apps from Windows
  • Disable telemetry, diagnostic data, and tailored tips or ads
  • Turn off Copilot, Windows Recall, and Click to Do
  • Restore the Windows 10 style context menu or enable dark mode
  • Export your chosen settings and import them on other PCs

Great for

  • People setting up a new Windows PC who want fewer preinstalled apps and less promotional content
  • Users who want to turn off telemetry and suggestions without going through each setting by hand
  • System administrators who want to apply the same settings to several machines using exported settings
  • Power users who are comfortable running scripts and reading on-screen prompts

Not ideal for

  • Anyone who is not comfortable running administrator-level scripts from the internet, since changes affect system settings
  • Users who want changes they cannot easily undo; the README says most changes are revertible and most apps can be reinstalled from the Microsoft Store, but reverting requires following the wiki
  • Users on non-Windows systems, since the project is specifically for Windows 10 and 11

Strengths

  • Covers many common cleanup and privacy settings in a single interactive menu
  • Requires no installation and is distributed as a script you can read
  • Supports command-line parameters, settings export and import, and applying changes to other users

Trade-offs

  • Changes system settings and removes apps, so mistakes can affect Windows behavior; the author warns to use at your own risk
  • Some changes are only partly reversible and depend on following the wiki's reversal guidance
  • Feature list and behavior depend on Windows version, which the README does not detail fully here
