What it is
OpenChamber is a workspace for starting AI coding agent sessions, seeing what they changed, and taking that work through review. It is built on the OpenCode agent and can be used as a desktop app, in a browser, inside VS Code, or on iOS and Android. Sessions and projects stay available when you switch devices.
- Start an agent session on a project and check progress from a phone
- Run the same task with up to five models in separate sessions and compare results
- Get an AI-guided walkthrough of a large diff before merging
- Send a running web app's screenshot and browser errors to the agent from the Preview panel
- Schedule a recurring prompt, such as a daily or weekly task
Great for
- Developers who already run AI coding agents and want a single place to manage them
- People who want to check or steer agent work from a phone or another machine
- Teams reviewing agent-made changes, including linking sessions to GitHub issues and pull requests
- Users who want to compare several models on the same task
Not ideal for
- People who do not use coding agents, since the tool is built around agent sessions
- Users who need a fully managed hosted service, because it runs on your own machines
- Anyone who cannot install Node.js 24.14+ or the desktop app for the setup they need
How to get it
- 1
Download the app
You'll need: Node.js 24.14+ (for CLI/Web only) · OpenCode CLI (for CLI/Web and VS Code)
Install CLI for Web and PWA
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/openchamber/openchamber/main/scripts/install.sh | bashStart with a UI password
openchamber --ui-password be-creative-hereInstall Debian/Ubuntu Linux package
sudo apt install ./OpenChamber-*-linux-amd64.deb - 2
Run it
- Download the desktop app from GitHub Releases, or install the VS Code extension from the Marketplace
- Or run the CLI install script and start OpenChamber with --ui-password
- Open the app or browser UI and start a session on a project
- Use openchamber status to check the running instance

Get the most out of it
- Use Session Goals so the agent keeps working toward a finish line after each turn
- Use Multi-run to compare up to five models in separate worktrees
- Use Private Relay with a QR code pairing to reach your machine without opening ports
- Use Preview to point at page elements and send the agent screenshots and styles
- Use scheduled tasks with Session Goals for recurring outcomes
Downloads
Strengths
- Covers many surfaces (desktop, web/PWA, VS Code, iOS, Android) with the same projects and sessions
- Desktop releases bundle the matching OpenCode CLI, so no separate install is needed
- Built on the open-source MIT-licensed OpenCode agent with a clear privacy-oriented remote access design
Trade-offs
- Many features are described only at a high level in the README; details live in separate guides
- Web/CLI and VS Code rely on a separately installed OpenCode CLI
- Remote access options (relay, tunnels, SSH, LAN) add setup choices that need understanding before use
