What it is

social-auto-upload is a Python tool that publishes videos, articles, and image posts to social media platforms such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, YouTube, and TikTok. It offers a unified `sau` command line and packaged skills that AI agents such as Codex, OpenClaw, or Claude Code can use. People use it to avoid repeating the same upload steps on each platform.

  • Upload a video to Douyin, Kuaishou, or Xiaohongshu with one command per platform
  • Schedule video posts on platforms that support scheduled publishing
  • Publish long-form articles with images to Dayu or Xueqiu
  • Let an AI agent install the project and run uploads through provided skills

Great for

  • Content creators posting the same video to several platforms
  • Operators managing multiple accounts on Chinese platforms like Douyin and Xiaohongshu
  • Developers who want scripted or agent-driven publishing
  • Users who already work with Python and the command line

Not ideal for

  • People who want a point-and-click app with no terminal use, since the README centers on CLI commands and install docs
  • Users needing platforms not listed in the README's support table
  • Anyone expecting guaranteed stability on platforms marked as in development or experimental, such as YouTube scheduling and Zhihu scheduling
Step-by-step guide: how to use social-auto-uploadInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

How to get it

  1. 1

    Clone and build from source

    You'll need: Python 3.10-3.12

    Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/dreammis/social-auto-upload

Install a single agent skill (optional)

npx skills add dreammis/social-auto-upload --skill douyin-upload
  2. 2

    Run it

    • Follow the installation guide in docs/install.md
    • Log in to a platform with: sau douyin login --account creator
    • Check the session with: sau douyin check --account creator
    • Upload a video with: sau douyin upload-video --account <account_name> --file videos/demo.mp4 --title "示例标题" --desc "示例简介"
  3. 3

Get the most out of it

    • Check the platform capability table before choosing a platform, since support varies
    • Use the CLI reference in docs/CLI.md for platform-specific parameters such as Bilibili --tid or YouTube --playlist
    • Use per-platform skills or the cross-platform skill with an AI agent
    • Use the article themes (default, grace, simple, modern, plain) for article posts

Strengths

  • Single CLI covers many platforms with a consistent upload-video pattern
  • Per-platform skills can be installed into compatible agents
  • MIT license and an active repository

Trade-offs

  • Relies on logging into each platform and maintaining local sessions, which can break when platforms change
  • README mixes stable features with in-development and experimental ones, so support must be checked per platform
  • The README contains sponsor messages that are unrelated to the tool's function
