Split-diopter framing video prompt

Keep a close foreground face and a distant background figure both sharp in one frame, the tense two-plane look of classic thrillers.

  1. 1Describe both planes

Models rarely know the lens name, so describe the result: two subjects at very different distances, both sharp, with a soft blurred seam between them. Keep the camera static.

Split-diopter style composition: {{foreground_subject}} in extreme close-up on the {{foreground_side}} side of frame, and {{background_subject}} far in the background on the other side. Both are in sharp focus at the same time, separated by a soft vertical band of blur through the middle of the frame.
    Action: {{action}}.
    Setting: {{setting}}.
    Camera: static, locked-off, eye level.
    Lighting: {{lighting}}.
Style: 1970s thriller look, warm tungsten tones, film grain.
    Mood: {{mood}}.
Duration {{duration}}, aspect ratio 2.39:1 letterboxed inside 16:9.
Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, extra limbs or fingers, warped faces, flicker, sudden cuts, one of the two subjects blurred, camera movement.
  2. 2Fallback: composite it

If the model keeps blurring one plane, generate the foreground and background as two separate static shots and blend them with a soft vertical mask in your editor. It's what the real lens does optically.

Example input

Detective's face close on the left, a figure under a streetlight far right, rainy street at night, paranoid; 5s.

Example output

Split-diopter style composition: a detective's tired face, half-lit in extreme close-up on the left side of frame, and a figure in a long coat standing under a streetlight far in the background on the other side. Both are in sharp focus at the same time, separated by a soft vertical band of blur through the middle of the frame. Action: the detective's eyes slowly shift toward the figure, who doesn't move. Setting: a rain-soaked city street at night seen through a car window. Camera: static, locked-off, eye level. Lighting: sodium streetlight orange, dashboard glow on the face. Style: 1970s thriller look, warm tungsten tones, film grain. Mood: paranoid, watchful. Duration 5 seconds, aspect ratio 2.39:1 letterboxed inside 16:9. Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, extra limbs or fingers, warped faces, flicker, sudden cuts, one of the two subjects blurred, camera movement.

Troubleshooting

  • Background figure is blurred: add 'deep focus, everything sharp' and remove 'shallow depth of field' from any style preset.
  • Letterbox bars are ignored: add them in the editor instead; it is more reliable.

Known limitations

  • This is an unusual optical effect; most models approximate it with deep focus rather than a true split, so the compositing fallback is often needed.
