An establishing shot needs scale, a clear time of day and one small sign of life so it doesn't feel like a postcard. Keep the camera move slow; the location is the subject.
Extreme wide establishing shot of {{location}} at {{time_of_day}}. {{life_detail}} gives the scene a sense of life and scale. Camera: {{camera_move}}, steady and slow, 24mm wide-angle look, deep focus so foreground and horizon are both sharp. Lighting: {{lighting}}. Style: cinematic, natural colour grade, subtle film grain, atmospheric haze adding depth between layers. Mood: {{mood}}. Duration {{duration}}, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}. Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, extra limbs or fingers, warped faces, flicker, sudden cuts, people in close-up, fast camera movement.2Pick the best take
Judge takes on the first and last frame: both should be a usable still. Choose the one with the clearest foreground-midground-background layering; that is what reads as 'cinematic'.
Example input
Northern fishing village at blue hour, one boat returning, slow push-in from the cliff, calm and remote, 6s, 16:9.
Example output
Extreme wide establishing shot of a fishing village of white houses on a rocky northern coastline at blue hour just after sunset. A single boat with a lantern returning to the harbour gives the scene a sense of life and scale. Camera: slow push-in from high on the cliff, steady and slow, 24mm wide-angle look, deep focus so foreground and horizon are both sharp. Lighting: cool blue ambient light with warm yellow windows glowing. Style: cinematic, natural colour grade, subtle film grain, atmospheric haze adding depth between layers. Mood: calm, remote, a little lonely. Duration 6 seconds, aspect ratio 16:9. Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, extra limbs or fingers, warped faces, flicker, sudden cuts, people in close-up, fast camera movement.
Troubleshooting
- It looks like a drone stock clip: add one foreground element (rocks, a fence post, grass) so the shot has depth layers.
- Buildings wobble or melt during the move: slow the camera further or switch to a static locked-off shot.
- Lighting comes out flat midday: put the time of day and lighting phrases earlier in the prompt.
Known limitations
- Real landmarks are often rendered inaccurately; don't use generated footage to represent a specific real place factually.
- Supported durations and aspect ratios vary by model; set them in the interface if the prompt text is ignored.
