How to use the Presentation Builder agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
The Presentation skill is an add-on for an AI agent that turns a talk script, an essay, or a set of product documents into a presentation. It can produce a lecture meant to be read aloud with slides paced to it, an HTML slide deck with speaker view, a Keynote file, or a sales pitch. This guide explains what the skill does, how to install it, how to ask for things in plain language, and what to check before you present.
Quick start
- 1Install the skill. Unzip the Presentation ZIP into ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder, or upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills in the Claude apps.
- 2Install the requirements. Make sure the Bun runtime and a LifeOS framework install are present. Add Keynote on macOS if you want a Keynote file.
- 3Choose a mode. Decide whether you need a read-aloud lecture, a cue-card HTML deck, or a sales pitch.
- 4Make the request. Describe the talk or product and paste or attach your script, essay, or product docs.
- 5Review the deck. Read the notes aloud, check every outside picture and credit, and verify any chart numbers.
- 6Serve and present. Open the served HTML deck, press F for fullscreen on the external display and S for speaker view on your laptop.
What an agent skill is and what this one does
An agent skill is a folder of instructions and helper files that an AI agent loads when your request matches the skill's trigger words. Nothing runs until you ask for something the skill covers.
The Presentation skill works in three modes. Lecture mode builds a talk you read aloud, with a new slide every 15 to 30 seconds and speaker notes that match the talk file word for word. Deck mode builds a slide deck where each slide carries one claim and short cue notes, served as an HTML page with speaker view. Pitch mode turns product documentation into a first-person value story, talking points, an elevator pitch, and for a full package a charcoal sketch.
- Lecture mode: source is a talk file (READ.md or SCRIPT.md); output is Keynote or HTML.
- Deck mode: output is an HTML deck built on the install's template.
- Pitch mode: output is a sales narrative, talking points and elevator pitch from product docs.
Install the Presentation skill
Download the Presentation ZIP from this page and unzip it into one of two places. Use ~/.claude/skills/ to make the skill available in every project, or a project's .claude/skills/ folder to limit it to that project.
If you use the Claude apps, you can instead upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- Personal install: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: unzip into the project's .claude/skills/ folder
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the ZIP
~/.claude/skills/Check the requirements before you start
The skill needs the Bun runtime, because its scripts are invoked with bun. It also needs an install of the LifeOS framework, which provides the template and related skills. Keynote output requires Keynote on macOS.
The skill's scripts use the network, and the skill is listed as running scripts. Plan for that before you share confidential material.
- Bun runtime (scripts are invoked with bun)
- LifeOS framework install (provides the template and related skills)
- Keynote on macOS, only if you want a Keynote file
Trigger the skill with natural requests
You do not need special syntax. Describe the outcome in ordinary language and include the material. The skill's trigger list includes phrases such as make me a deck, slides, present on, give a talk on, speaker notes, script for a talk, turn this essay into a talk, serve the deck, presenter mode, and sales pitch.
When the request is unclear, the skill asks once which mode you want.
- "Make me a deck on how cities manage floods." (deck mode)
- "Turn this essay into a talk I can read aloud, with slides that follow it." (lecture mode)
- "Serve the deck so I can use presenter mode." (serving a built deck)
- "Turn this product documentation into a sales pitch and an elevator pitch." (pitch mode)
- "Make that slide a diagram." (editing an existing deck)
Review the output before you present
The skill checks slide layout and speaker notes in code, and it can capture slides and write a critique. Its own file lists manual checks it cannot make: whether the talk sounds like you, whether visuals support what you say, and whether the speaker view works with a real S keypress.
Rehearse with the rendered deck. Read each slide's notes aloud once to see whether you stumble.
- Rehearse the talk aloud using the rendered deck.
- Confirm pictures and credits on every outside image or clip.
- Press S in the served deck to confirm speaker view on your laptop.
- Check every number on a chart, or confirm its source line says illustrative.
Tips for better results
Give the agent your real material. The skill builds from your talk file or product docs, so a rough script usually produces a better deck than a one-line topic. In lecture mode, the talk file stays the source, so make edits there and rebuild rather than editing the deck directly.
For HTML decks, the skill's build step serves the deck locally with speaker view. For Keynote, the file's own notes are the talk text.
- Put wording changes in the talk file, not the deck, then rebuild.
- Name the real people, films, books or products you mention so the skill can find pictures for them.
- Keep one claim per slide in deck mode.
- Use the Keynote output only on macOS with Keynote installed.
What people use it for
- Turning a written essay into a read-aloud lecture with slides paced to the text.
- Building a quick HTML slide deck with presenter notes for a meeting.
- Converting product documentation into a sales narrative and elevator pitch for a sales team.
- Replacing a generic diagram on one slide with a diagram built from your content.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the Presentation agent skill?
Download the ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for all projects, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder. In the Claude apps you can upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
What does the Presentation skill require?
It requires the Bun runtime because its scripts are invoked with bun, and an install of the LifeOS framework that provides the template and related skills. Keynote output also requires Keynote on macOS.
Is the Presentation skill free?
The skill is published under the MIT licence. This page does not state pricing for the wider tools it depends on, so check those separately.
Does the skill run code and use the network?
Yes. The skill is listed as running scripts and using the network. Avoid sharing sensitive or confidential product material, since it may be processed by network-connected tools.
Can the skill make images or videos too?
Not in this skill. Image work is routed to the Art skill, video to HyperFrames, web design to Webdesign, and voice reading to ReadIt.
Why is my deck not showing speaker view?
Speaker view needs a real S keypress in the served deck on your laptop. Open the served HTML deck, press S, and check that the notes appear. If it still fails, confirm Bun is installed and the deck was served by the build step.

Our verdict
Use this skill if you want a read-aloud lecture with matching slides, a quick HTML deck with presenter notes, or a sales pitch built from product docs. Pick something else if you only need images, video, or web design, or if you expect a finished deck without reviewing and rehearsing it yourself.
