How to use the Kuaishou Video and Note Publisher agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
This guide explains how to install and use the kuaishou-upload agent skill, which lets an AI agent publish to the Kuaishou short-video platform by running the sau command-line tool from the social-auto-upload project. It is written for people who have never used agent skills. By the end you will know what the skill does, how to install it, what else you need on your machine, and how to ask your agent for logins, cookie checks, video uploads and image-note posts.
Quick start
- 1Install the social-auto-upload project. Run uv pip install -e . from the project root so the sau command is available.
- 2Install the Chromium browser. Run patchright install chromium with the PLAYWRIGHT_DOWNLOAD_HOST setting shown for your operating system.
- 3Confirm sau runs. Run sau kuaishou --help, or the uv or .venv variant if sau is not on your PATH.
- 4Install the skill. Unzip the downloaded ZIP into ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder, or upload it under Settings, Capabilities, Skills in the Claude apps.
- 5Log in the account. Ask your agent to log in a named account. Scan the QR code image it shows you with the Kuaishou app.
- 6Check and publish. Ask the agent to check the cookie, then request a video or image note upload with your title and tags.
What is an agent skill, and what does this one do?
An agent skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file and supporting reference files. When you install it, an AI agent that supports skills can read those instructions and follow them for matching tasks. This skill covers Kuaishou only.
Once installed, the agent is told to use the sau command as its main interface. It can log in to a named Kuaishou account and save a cookie for later use, check whether that cookie is still valid, upload a video with title, description and tags, or post an image note.
- Login: sau kuaishou login --account <name> generates or refreshes the cookie for that account.
- Cookie check: sau kuaishou check --account <name> reports valid or invalid.
- Video upload: sau kuaishou upload-video publishes a video with title, desc and tags.
- Image note upload: sau kuaishou upload-note publishes an image note with title, note and tags.
Install the kuaishou-upload skill
Download the ZIP for this skill from the page you are reading and unzip it. You have two options for installing it.
For a personal install, unzip the folder into ~/.claude/skills/. To limit it to one project, unzip it into that project's .claude/skills/ folder. Alternatively, in the Claude apps, open Settings, go to Capabilities, then Skills, and upload the skill there.
- Personal: place the unzipped skill folder in ~/.claude/skills/
- Single project: place it in the project's .claude/skills/ folder
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload
Install social-auto-upload and the sau command
The skill does not work on its own. It needs the social-auto-upload project installed, with sau available to the agent's shell. The runtime notes recommend running the install from the project root. Then install the Chromium browser that patchright uses.
On Windows PowerShell, set the download host and install Chromium. On Linux or macOS, use the bash form. Afterwards, confirm the CLI works by running its help command. If sau is not on your PATH, the runtime notes list alternatives such as activating the .venv or running through uv.
- Windows PowerShell: set PLAYWRIGHT_DOWNLOAD_HOST to the npmmirror Playwright mirror, then run patchright install chromium
- Linux or macOS: run the same host setting inline before patchright install chromium
- Check the CLI with sau kuaishou --help, or uv run sau kuaishou --help if you use uv
uv pip install -e .Log in to a Kuaishou account and check the cookie
Login uses the QR code flow. The account name you pass to --account is your own label, such as a creator name or a brand name. It is not a fixed value. Each account name maps to its own account file, which lets you keep several Kuaishou accounts separate.
If the login process creates a local QR code image, the agent is instructed to show or send that image to you directly rather than only giving you the file path. Run the check command whenever you are unsure whether a cookie still works. It returns valid when the cookie is usable and invalid when it is missing or expired.
- Use one account name per Kuaishou account you control
- Run check before a batch of posts to avoid failures mid-run
- If check returns invalid, run login again for that account
sau kuaishou check --account <name>Publish a video or image note
For a video, the skill uses title, desc and tags. The file, account and title are required. Description, tags, scheduled time, thumbnail and browser mode are optional. Scheduling is used only when you explicitly ask for it. Without a schedule value, the post goes out immediately.
For an image note, the skill uses title, note and tags. The command takes --account, --images and --title, and --note is optional. If you pass several images but only one appears on the page, check that the paths are different files and not the same path repeated.
- Video required fields: --account, --file, --title
- Video optional fields: --desc, --tags, --schedule, --thumbnail, --debug, --headless or --headed
- Image note required fields: --account, --images, --title
- Schedule format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM
sau kuaishou upload-video --account <name> --file <video-path> --title "<title>" --tags tag1,tag2Safety, network and what the skill runs
This skill runs scripts and uses the network. The CLI logs in with account cookies and publishes on the account's behalf, so only use it on accounts you own or control, and check that your use fits Kuaishou's terms. The skill itself does not confirm that a post was published; it depends on the external CLI's result.
The skill ships with example scripts in scripts/examples, including a Python template and a Bash file. These are optional. The default workflow is to run sau commands directly. The skill also says the agent should not read the uploader source code first, and should only open the troubleshooting guide when a command fails or sau is unavailable.
- Use only accounts you own or control
- Cookies are stored per account name; treat those files as credentials
- Confirm published results on Kuaishou yourself
- Python or Bash is needed only if you run the example scripts
What people use it for
- A creator who posts the same short video to Kuaishou on a regular schedule and wants the agent to run the upload.
- A marketing team that prepares batches of image notes and posts them across several named Kuaishou accounts.
- A developer already using social-auto-upload who wants a stable command-based way for an agent to reach Kuaishou.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Kuaishou upload agent skill free?
The skill is listed under the MIT licence on its directory page. The SKILL.md metadata names MIT-0, so check the licence file in the repository before you rely on either. The skill still needs the social-auto-upload project and its sau command installed.
What do I need to install before using this skill?
You need the social-auto-upload project installed with the sau command available in your shell, Chromium installed for patchright, and a Kuaishou account you can log in to with the QR code flow. You also need local video or image files. Python or Bash is only needed if you run the example scripts.
How do I install an agent skill like kuaishou-upload?
Download the ZIP and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder. You can also upload it in the Claude apps under Settings, Capabilities, Skills.
Why does the agent say sau is not found?
The shell cannot find the sau command. Try activating the .venv, running the .venv sau.exe directly, or using uv run sau kuaishou --help. If the project is not installed yet, run uv pip install -e . from the project root.
What should I do when a Kuaishou cookie is invalid?
Run sau kuaishou check --account with your account name. If it returns invalid, run sau kuaishou login --account with the same name and scan the QR code again.
Can it schedule posts for a later time?
Yes. Add --schedule with a time in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format. The skill only uses scheduling when you explicitly ask for it, and omitting the flag publishes immediately.

Our verdict
Use this skill if you already run social-auto-upload or are willing to set it up, and you regularly publish to Kuaishou accounts you control. Pick something else if you want a verified posting result, if you do not own the accounts, or if you do not want to install a command-line tool and a browser.
