How to use the Japan Post Web Yu-pri Filler agent skill

Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data

This guide explains the cli-anything-web-yu-pri agent skill, which lets an AI agent work with Japan Post's Web Yu-pri shipping label system through a command-line tool that drives a real browser. It is written for people who have never used agent skills before. By the end you will know what the skill does, how to install it, how to ask an agent to use it, and which safety limits apply.

Japan Post Web Yu-pri FillerHKUDS/CLI-Anything · Apache-2.0

Quick start

  1. 1Get the skill files. Download the skill ZIP from the page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder, or upload it under Settings, Capabilities, Skills in the Claude apps.
  2. 2Install the CLI. Run the pip install command for the CLI-Anything web-yu-pri package from GitHub. If no browser is found, install Chromium with Playwright.
  3. 3Run a health check. Run the doctor command with JSON output to confirm the CLI is working.
  4. 4Sign in manually. Run open-login and sign in to Japan Post Web Yu-pri yourself in the browser that opens. Never type your password into a prompt or file.
  5. 5Prepare the items file. Create a JSON or CSV file with each item's description, value, quantity and country code, and check every value against your records.
  6. 6Dry-run the contents fill. Run contents fill with the dry-run flag and review the output before doing anything live.
  7. 7Run the live fill. After the dry run looks correct, run contents fill with the total declared value. The CLI stops before final shipment or purchase, so you complete those steps yourself.

What this skill lets the agent do

The skill teaches an AI agent to operate Japan Post Web Yu-pri through a CLI that controls a real browser. The agent can open a login page so you sign in yourself, check the status of a page, take screenshots, plan item entries from a JSON or CSV list, and fill the repetitive contents lines of a shipment form.

The skill is built around a dry run. Filling is meant to be checked with a dry run before any live entry, and the CLI does not click final shipment confirmation or purchase buttons.

  • Open a login page so you can sign in manually
  • Check page status and take screenshots
  • Plan item entries from a JSON or CSV file
  • Fill contents lines, with dry-run checks first

What you need before installing

You need Python with pip, git access to GitHub so the CLI-Anything package can be installed, and a Japan Post Web Yu-pri account that you log in to yourself. Playwright with Chromium is used to control the browser. If no browser is found, install Chromium through Playwright.

  • Python with pip
  • Git access to GitHub
  • A Japan Post Web Yu-pri account, logged in manually by you
  • Playwright with Chromium
python -m playwright install chromium

Install the skill and the CLI

Download the ZIP of the skill from the page where you found it and unzip it. For a personal setup, place the folder in ~/.claude/skills/. For a single project, place it in that project's .claude/skills/ folder. In the Claude apps you can instead upload the skill under Settings, then Capabilities, then Skills.

The CLI itself is installed from the HKUDS CLI-Anything repository on GitHub, using the command below.

  • Personal use: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/
  • Single project: unzip into the project's .claude/skills/
  • Claude apps: Settings, then Capabilities, then Skills, then upload
pip install git+https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything.git#subdirectory=web-yu-pri/agent-harness

Ask the agent for a task in plain language

You do not need to type commands yourself. The skill applies when a task involves Japan Post Web Yu-pri label entry, especially entering many similar contents lines. Describe the job and the item list, and say that you want a dry run first.

Never put your Japan Post password in a prompt. The skill forbids this, and the agent should send you to the login step instead.

  • Good request: Check my items.json against Web Yu-pri and do a dry run of the contents fill.
  • Good request: Open the Yu-pri login page so I can sign in, then check the status of the label page.
  • Good request: Take a screenshot of the Yu-pri contents page and save the HTML too.

Prepare your items file

Items can be given as a JSON file with an items list, or as a CSV file. Each item needs a description, a declared value, a quantity and a country code. The CSV headers accept several aliases, so an existing spreadsheet export may work without renaming columns.

By default the value is treated as the declared value for the whole line. If the value should be multiplied by quantity, tell the agent to use unit mode. Keep separate lines when the source data has separate award or category lines, while preserving the declared total you asked for.

  • description aliases: description, desc, content, contents, item, name, pkg
  • value aliases: value, declared_value, cost, price, amount, yen, jpy
  • quantity aliases: quantity, qty, num, count
  • country aliases: country, country_code, country_of_origin, origin, couCd, cou_cd
  • HS code aliases: hs_code, hs, hscode, hsCode
  • Use the unit value mode when value is per item and should be multiplied by quantity
{"items": [{"description": "Award plaque", "value": 8000, "quantity": 1, "country": "KR"}, {"description": "Certificate", "value": 9000, "quantity": 1, "country": "KR"}]}

Check the form and fill it safely

The usual order is to run a health check, open login, check status, plan the items, dry-run the fill, and only then run the live fill with a total declared value. The agent should show you the dry-run output before the live step.

If selectors fail because the site layout has changed, the skill includes diagnostics that list the known contents-page controls and save a screenshot and HTML snapshot of a page.

  • Run a health check with doctor
  • Open the login page and sign in yourself
  • Confirm the status of the page
  • Plan the items file
  • Dry-run the contents fill
  • Run the live fill with the declared total only after the dry run looks right
cli-anything-web-yu-pri --json doctor cli-anything-web-yu-pri open-login cli-anything-web-yu-pri --json status --url https://mgr.post.japanpost.jp/M060800.do cli-anything-web-yu-pri --json plan items.json cli-anything-web-yu-pri --json contents fill items.json --dry-run cli-anything-web-yu-pri --json contents fill items.json --total-value 17000

Safety notes: scripts, network and credentials

The skill runs scripts and uses the network, because it drives a browser that talks to Japan Post's site. It uses a persistent browser profile, and you log in there manually, so credentials stay out of commands, files, logs and prompts.

Wrong declarations can cause shipping or customs problems. Check the descriptions, values, quantities, country codes and HS codes against your own records before a live fill. The site may also change its layout, which can break the selectors the skill depends on.

  • Do not put Japan Post credentials in commands, files, logs or prompts
  • Always dry-run before live filling
  • The skill does not click final shipment or purchase buttons, so you still confirm the shipment yourself
  • Verify declared values and customs details before filling

What people use it for

  • Entering many near-identical contents lines for repeat shipments of the same kind of goods
  • Checking a prepared CSV export from a spreadsheet before filling a Yu-pri form
  • Taking screenshots and HTML snapshots of the contents page when a form layout seems to have changed
  • Planning item entries from a JSON list so the lines can be reviewed before any live filling

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the cli-anything-web-yu-pri skill?

Download the skill ZIP from the page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder. You can also upload it in the Claude apps under Settings, Capabilities, Skills. The CLI itself is installed with pip from the HKUDS CLI-Anything GitHub repository.

What do I need to run the Japan Post Web Yu-pri skill?

You need Python with pip, git access to GitHub, Playwright with Chromium, and a Japan Post Web Yu-pri account that you log in to manually. The skill is meant for users who already have that account and can sign in themselves.

Is the Japan Post Web Yu-pri skill free?

The skill is published under the Apache-2.0 licence, as listed for the HKUDS CLI-Anything skill. The source does not mention pricing, and you still need your own Japan Post account.

Does the skill submit shipments or make purchases?

No. The source says the CLI does not click final shipment confirmation or purchase buttons. It is designed to dry-run first and stops before those steps, so you complete them yourself.

Can I store my Japan Post password in the skill or a script?

No. The skill explicitly forbids putting Japan Post credentials in commands, files, logs or prompts. Use the open-login command so you can sign in manually in the persistent browser profile.

What should I do if the contents form fill stops working?

The site may have changed its layout. Run the selectors and snapshot commands to list the known controls and save a screenshot and HTML of the page, then compare them with the controls the skill expects. Check the layout before running any live fill.

Our verdict

This skill suits staff or developers who enter many similar contents lines into Yu-pri labels and already have a Japan Post account they can log into themselves. It is a poor fit if you want fully unattended submission, or if you cannot verify declared values and customs details, since wrong declarations can cause shipping or customs problems.
