How to use the Foodora Order Checker agent skill (ordercli)

Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data

The ordercli skill teaches an AI agent to use a command-line tool called ordercli, which looks up your past Foodora food delivery orders and tracks active ones. This guide is for people who order from Foodora and are comfortable installing a command-line tool. After reading it, you will know how to install the skill, log in, ask the agent for what you need, and what to watch out for.

Quick start

  1. 1Install ordercli. Install the ordercli tool with Homebrew or Go. The skill depends on this command-line tool.
  2. 2Add the skill folder. Download the ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder, or upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
  3. 3Choose your country. List supported countries with ordercli foodora countries, then set yours with the config command.
  4. 4Log in. Log in with your Foodora email and password, or import an existing browser session if you prefer not to type a password.
  5. 5Ask for your orders. Request your active orders or history in plain language, such as asking where your current Foodora order is.
  6. 6Preview any reorder. Ask for a reorder preview first, check it, and only then approve the confirmed reorder.

What the ordercli skill makes the agent do

An agent skill is a folder of instructions that an AI agent loads when your request matches it. This skill is built around the ordercli command-line tool and currently supports Foodora only.

With it, the agent can check the status of orders in progress, watch them, look at your order history, and show details of a past order. It can also reorder a past order, but only after showing you a preview and asking for confirmation.

  • Check active orders and their arrival or status
  • Watch active orders for changes
  • Look up past orders and show their details, including JSON output
  • Preview and, after confirmation, reorder a past order

Install the ordercli tool and the skill

The skill needs the ordercli command-line tool. The skill's metadata lists two install routes: Homebrew, using the formula steipete/tap/ordercli, or Go, using the module github.com/steipete/ordercli/cmd/ordercli@latest.

To add the skill itself, download the ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder. You can also upload it in the Claude apps under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

  • Install ordercli with Homebrew or Go
  • Download the skill ZIP from this page
  • Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ or the project's .claude/skills/ folder, or upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills
brew install steipete/tap/ordercli # or go install github.com/steipete/ordercli/cmd/ordercli@latest

Set up your Foodora country and log in

Before logging in, list the supported countries and set yours. Login takes your Foodora email and password, or you can import an existing browser session instead of typing a password. Passwords are passed through stdin in the example commands.

If Foodora's bot protection (Cloudflare) blocks the login, the source describes a browser login option and importing Chrome cookies.

  • Use --config /tmp/ordercli.json when testing so your normal settings are not touched
  • Session import needs no password and can use Chrome, with an optional refresh step
ordercli foodora countries ordercli foodora config set --country AT ordercli foodora login --email you@example.com --password-stdin

Check active orders and order history

Ask the agent for your current orders or past history. Behind the scenes it runs these commands. You can also run them yourself.

Watch mode keeps checking an active order for updates. The JSON output is useful if you want the agent to summarise details.

ordercli foodora orders ordercli foodora orders --watch ordercli foodora history --limit 20 ordercli foodora history show <orderCode> ordercli foodora history show <orderCode> --json

Reorder a past order safely

A reorder adds items to your Foodora cart. The command without --confirm only previews the order. The agent should show you the preview and wait for your go-ahead before running the confirmed version. The address option lets you choose which delivery address to use.

Check the preview carefully, especially the items and address, before confirming.

  • Preview first, without --confirm
  • Confirm only when you approve the preview
  • Add --address-id <id> to choose a delivery address
ordercli foodora reorder <orderCode> ordercli foodora reorder <orderCode> --confirm ordercli foodora reorder <orderCode> --confirm --address-id <id>

Trigger the skill with natural requests

You do not need to remember commands. Ask in plain language, and mention Foodora so the agent knows which service you mean. Examples of requests that should match this skill:

  • Where is my Foodora order right now?
  • Watch my active Foodora order and tell me when it changes
  • Show me my last 20 Foodora orders
  • What did I order in my most recent Foodora delivery?
  • Reorder my Foodora order from last Friday, show me the preview first

Safety notes: scripts, network and your login

This skill runs scripts and uses the network. Logging in stores account access on the machine, so only use it on a computer you trust. Be aware that giving an agent your email, password or session cookies means it can access your account through the tool.

Reorders change your real cart. Even though the skill asks for confirmation first, make sure you want the items before you approve.

  • Only install on a machine you control
  • Use a test config file when experimenting
  • Review every reorder preview before confirming

What people use it for

  • Checking whether a Foodora delivery is on its way without opening the app
  • Watching an active order for status changes while you do other things
  • Finding what you ordered last month for a receipt or to repeat a favourite meal
  • Reordering a past meal after reviewing the preview and choosing a delivery address

Frequently asked questions

Is the ordercli skill free?

The source does not state pricing for the skill. It is listed under the MIT licence, which is a permissive open-source licence. Check the repository for full licence terms.

What do I need to use ordercli?

You need the ordercli command-line tool, installable with Homebrew or Go, and either your Foodora email and password or an existing browser session. Chrome is optional for cookie or session import.

Does ordercli work with Deliveroo?

Not yet. Deliveroo support is listed as work in progress and not working. The Deliveroo commands need DELIVEROO_BEARER_TOKEN and optionally DELIVEROO_COOKIE, but the source says it is not working yet.

Can the agent place an order without asking me?

The reorder command only changes the cart when run with --confirm. The skill is written to show a preview and ask for confirmation first, so review the items and address before approving.

What should I do if Foodora blocks the login?

The source mentions Cloudflare or bot protection and suggests a browser login with --browser, reusing a browser profile, or importing Chrome cookies. Use these options if a normal login fails.

Is it safe to give an agent my Foodora password?

Logging in stores account access on your machine, and the skill runs scripts and uses the network. If you are uneasy about this, use a session import or avoid the skill and check your orders in the app.

Our verdict

Choose this skill if you order from Foodora, are comfortable installing a command-line tool, and want quick order status or a repeat of a past order without opening the app. Pick something else if you order from Deliveroo or outside Foodora's supported countries, or if you are not comfortable storing login access on your machine.
