How to use the Brag Launch Video Maker agent skill

Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data

The brag skill is an agent skill that reads your project's code and turns it into a short launch video. It is built for people who have just finished a website or app and want a shareable promo clip without writing a storyboard or recording footage. This guide explains what an agent skill is, how to install brag, how to trigger it with plain requests, and what to check before you publish the result.

Brag Launch Video Makerlatent-spaces/brag · MIT

Quick start

  1. 1Download the skill. Get the ZIP for skills/brag from the latent-spaces/brag page and unzip it.
  2. 2Place the folder. Move the brag folder to ~/.claude/skills/ or to .claude/skills/ in your project.
  3. 3Check Hyperframes and Node.js. Make sure Node.js and npm are installed so the npx hyperframes steps can run.
  4. 4Open your project. Start your agent in the project directory so it can read the code.
  5. 5Ask for the video. Say /brag or let's brag about this, optionally adding tone or format direction.
  6. 6Review the storyboard. The agent writes brag-plan.md in the output folder; check the scenes and claims.
  7. 7Watch and share. Open brag.mp4, edit if needed, and use share-copy.txt with brag.jpg as the poster.

What an agent skill is and what brag makes the agent do

An agent skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file that tells an AI agent how to handle a specific kind of task. When the skill is loaded and you ask for that task, the agent follows the steps written in the file.

When you ask brag to brag about your project, the agent reads your code, plans a short 15-25 second launch video with a storyline, text and timing, then builds and renders it as an MP4 with optional music and sound effects. It can also write share copy and a poster frame. It does not need a live URL or screenshots.

  • Reads the project code directly to understand the app
  • Plans a brag concept and storyboards scenes, text, timing, transitions and SFX cues
  • Builds the video with Hyperframes and renders brag.mp4
  • Writes a poster frame (brag.jpg) and share-copy.txt

Install the brag skill

Download the ZIP for skills/brag from the latent-spaces/brag repository page on our site and unzip it. Put the resulting brag folder in one of two places: your user skills folder at ~/.claude/skills/, or a project's .claude/skills/ folder if you want the skill available only in that project.

You can also upload the skill in the Claude apps. Open Settings, go to Capabilities, then Skills, and upload it there.

  • Personal install: ~/.claude/skills/brag
  • Project install: .claude/skills/brag inside your project
  • Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills
~/.claude/skills/brag

Trigger brag with natural requests

The skill loads when you use phrases from its description. Any of these should work: /brag, let's brag about this, make a launch video, turn this into a video, or a request to share what you built. You can add direction in plain language after the trigger.

Flags are optional. The skill accepts --tone, --format (landscape, vertical or square), --duration, --no-music, --no-sfx, --title and --voice. Tone can be a preset such as polished, chaotic or deadpan, or a freeform idea such as a museum exhibit.

  • /brag
  • /brag --tone polished --format vertical
  • /brag this. Make it feel like a ridiculous startup launch.
  • Let's brag about this, make it cinematic
/brag --tone polished --format vertical

What you need before running it

Brag uses Hyperframes, run through the npx hyperframes CLI. Node.js and npm are needed for the npx hyperframes check and render steps. If you use --voice, narration uses Kokoro through Hyperframes. Without --voice, narration is off.

The skill runs scripts and uses the network. Check the scripts and the bundled music files before you run it on private or sensitive projects.

  • Hyperframes (npx hyperframes CLI)
  • Node.js and npm
  • Kokoro through Hyperframes only if you pass --voice
  • Bundled music cues are from a third-party track series, so check their licences before commercial use

Review the output and handle music licensing

The result is a first draft. The video is generated, so text, timing or visuals may need editing before you publish. Brag is not the right tool when you need exact control over every frame.

Music is on by default. The bundled tracks belong to a third-party series, so if you need legally cleared music, check the track licences first or run with --no-music.

  • Watch the MP4 through once for wrong claims or awkward text
  • Use --no-music if you need to avoid the bundled tracks
  • Use --no-sfx to turn off sound effects

What people use it for

  • Promo clip for a website or app you just built, for a launch post
  • Playful first-draft video from a codebase for a marketing test
  • Short share video for a founder or indie maker preparing a launch
  • Vertical or square cut for social posts using --format

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the brag agent skill?

Download the ZIP for skills/brag from the latent-spaces/brag page and unzip it. Put the brag folder in ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use or in a project's .claude/skills/ folder. In the Claude apps you can instead upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

What does the brag skill need to run?

It needs Hyperframes through the npx hyperframes CLI, plus Node.js and npm for the check and render steps. Kokoro through Hyperframes is needed only if you use --voice. The skill runs scripts and uses the network.

Does brag need a live URL or screenshots?

No. It reads the project code directly, so you do not need to deploy the site or supply images.

Is the brag skill free?

The skill is published under the MIT licence, as listed on this page. Check the repository's licence file for the full terms. The bundled music tracks come from a third-party series, so check their licences before commercial use.

Can I use brag for a final brand video?

Not as a finished product. The output is generated and works as a first draft that may need editing. If you need exact control over visuals, use a dedicated video editor.

Why does brag produce no video or fail the check?

The source does not list specific error fixes. Confirm Hyperframes and Node.js are installed, run the check inside the composition folder, and read the errors it reports before rendering again.

Our verdict

Brag suits developers, founders and marketers who want a quick, playful first-draft launch video from a project they have just built. It is a poor fit if you need exact visual control or cleared music without checking the bundled track licences, so use a professional editor in those cases.
