How to use the Bilibili Upload agent skill

Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data

The bilibili-upload skill is a set of instructions that teaches an AI agent to use the sau command-line tool to log in to Bilibili, check whether a saved account still works, and upload a video. It is for people who publish to Bilibili and already run a local terminal. After this guide you will know how to install the skill, what you must do yourself (the login), how to ask for an upload in plain language, and what safety checks to apply.

Quick start

  1. 1Install sap sau. Install the social-auto-upload project so the sau command works, or confirm that sau_cli.py runs from its repository with Python.
  2. 2Install the skill folder. Unzip the downloaded ZIP into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into .claude/skills/ in a project, or upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
  3. 3Log in yourself. In a local terminal, run sau bilibili login --account with your own account name and scan the QR code, or open qrcode.png if the terminal code is garbled.
  4. 4Check the account. Ask the agent to check the account, or run sau bilibili check --account with the same name. Expect valid or invalid.
  5. 5Upload a video. Ask for the upload in plain language with the file, title, description and zone. Review the command the agent proposes, then let it run.

What the bilibili-upload skill makes the agent do

An agent skill is a folder of instructions and helper files that an AI agent reads when a task matches the skill's description. This one covers Bilibili, a Chinese video platform. It describes three actions that map to sau commands: login, check and upload-video.

The agent prefers the sau tool as its main interface. The skill tells it not to ask you to find or download biliup yourself, because sau prepares that helper automatically when a Bilibili command runs.

  • Login: sau bilibili login --account <name>. You run this yourself in a local terminal to generate or refresh login information.
  • Check: sau bilibili check --account <name>. Reports whether the saved account is currently valid.
  • Upload: sau bilibili upload-video. Uploads one video with a title, description, zone (category), optional tags and an optional scheduled publish time.

What you need before you start

The skill assumes the sau command is installed and can be called, or that the repository's sau_cli.py can be run with Python. You also need an internet connection on the first run, because sau downloads biliup from GitHub Release. You need a Bilibili account that you log in to once yourself.

You do not need to install biliup manually.

  • sau (social-auto-upload) CLI installed, or sau_cli.py available in the repository
  • A Python environment for the repository
  • Internet access on first run so sau can download biliup
  • A Bilibili account, logged in once by you using a QR code
  • A local terminal you can use on your own computer

How to install the skill

Download the ZIP for this skill from this page and unzip it. Then place the folder in one of these locations, depending on how you use your agent.

For a personal setup, put it in ~/.claude/skills/. For a single project, put it in that project's .claude/skills/ folder. You can also upload the skill in the Claude apps under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

After installing, check that the folder contains SKILL.md and the references and scripts folders.

  • Personal: ~/.claude/skills/ (unzip here)
  • Project only: .claude/skills/ inside the project folder
  • Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the skill

Log in once on your own machine

Login must be done by you, not by the agent. The skill says the agent should not run sau bilibili login in a non-interactive environment, because it needs a real terminal to show the QR code.

Open a local terminal in the project folder and run the command below, using your own account name. The account name is any name you choose, and each name maps to one account file, which lets you keep several Bilibili accounts apart. If the QR code is garbled in the terminal, open the qrcode.png file in the current folder and scan it instead.

sau bilibili login --account <account>

Check an account and upload a video

Use check to confirm an account is still valid. It prints valid or invalid. Upload needs the account name, the video file path, a title, a description and a zone ID (--tid). The skill says --tid must be provided. Tags are comma-separated. Schedule uses the YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format.

The agent can build these commands for you, but you should read them before they run, especially uploads, which publish to a real account.

  • --account, --file, --title, --desc and --tid are required for upload-video
  • --tags and --schedule are optional
  • Tags are separated by commas, for example tag1,tag2
sau bilibili check --account <account> sau bilibili upload-video --account <account> --file <video-path> --title "<title>" --desc "<desc>" --tid <category-id> [--tags tag1,tag2] [--schedule "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM"]

How to trigger the skill with natural requests

You do not need to type commands. Describe the task in plain language and mention Bilibili or the account name. The agent matches the request to this skill's description and chooses check, login guidance or upload.

Be specific about the video file, title, zone and schedule. If you leave out the zone, the agent may need to ask you, because --tid is required.

  • Check whether my creator account for Bilibili is still logged in.
  • Upload ~/videos/episode-12.mp4 to Bilibili account creator with the title and description below, zone 17, tags tutorial, python, publish on 2025-06-01 18:00.
  • Walk me through logging in to Bilibili again so I can scan the QR code myself.
  • Which Bilibili command do I run to upload a video on a schedule?

Safety notes and troubleshooting

This skill runs scripts and uses the network. The first Bilibili command may download biliup, and an upload sends a video to a real public account. Review each action before it runs, and avoid letting an agent run uploads unattended on accounts you cannot afford to misuse.

If something fails, check the common causes first: the first run is slow while biliup downloads, a failed download usually means GitHub Release cannot be reached, check returns invalid when the login is stale, and the not a terminal error means login was run in a non-interactive environment. Upstream biliup updates can change behaviour, so note which biliup version was downloaded when you debug.

  • Slow first run is normal while biliup downloads
  • Download failures: check GitHub access and write permission in the folder
  • check returns invalid: log in again yourself
  • not a terminal error: run login in your own local terminal
  • Upload failures: confirm --tid, that the file exists, that title, description and tags meet Bilibili's rules, and that the login is still valid

What people use it for

  • Publishing a finished video to a personal Bilibili account with a title, description and tags
  • Scheduling a video to go live at a set time using --schedule
  • Running several Bilibili accounts from one script by giving each its own account name
  • Checking which saved accounts still need a fresh login before a batch of uploads

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the bilibili-upload agent skill?

Download the ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use or into .claude/skills/ inside a project. You can also upload it in the Claude apps under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

What do I need to use the bilibili-upload skill?

You need the sau (social-auto-upload) CLI available, or sau_cli.py in the repository with a Python environment, plus internet access on first run so biliup can be downloaded. You also need a Bilibili account that you log in to once yourself by scanning a QR code.

Is the bilibili-upload skill free?

The skill is listed under the MIT licence on this page. Its SKILL.md header says MIT-0, so check the licence files in the project if you plan to redistribute it. This guide does not cover pricing for Bilibili or any other service.

Why does the agent say I have to log in myself?

Login needs an interactive terminal to show a QR code, and the skill tells the agent not to run sau bilibili login in a non-interactive environment. Running it yourself in a local terminal avoids the not a terminal error.

Do I have to install biliup myself?

No. The skill says sau downloads biliup automatically the first time a Bilibili command runs and updates it when the upstream release changes. Downloads need access to GitHub Release.

What should I do if check returns invalid?

Run sau bilibili login --account with the same account name in your own local terminal and scan the QR code. Invalid usually means the account file is missing or the saved login has expired.

Our verdict

Use this skill if you publish to Bilibili, are comfortable in a local terminal, and want an agent to prepare uploads and check accounts. Pick something else if you cannot run commands on your own computer, or if you want unattended uploads to a real public account without reviewing each action.
