How to use the AI FAQ Creator agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
The AI FAQ Creator is an agent skill, a set of written instructions that an AI agent such as Claude loads when a task matches it. Once it is installed, you can paste product text, help-desk logs or a topic name and ask the agent to draft an FAQ from it. This guide explains what the skill does, how to install it, how to ask for it, and where its limits are.
Quick start
- 1Download the skill. Get the ZIP file for ai-faq-creator from this page. It contains SKILL.md.
- 2Unzip into a skills folder. Extract the ZIP into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder for one project.
- 3Or upload in the Claude apps. In the Claude apps, open Settings, go to Capabilities, then Skills, and upload the ZIP.
- 4Paste your source. Copy the help-desk logs, product text or topic you want to work from into the conversation.
- 5Ask in plain language. Describe the FAQ you want, such as removing duplicates or listing unanswered questions.
- 6Review the output. Check each answer against your sources and mark unresolved questions for follow-up.
What the AI FAQ Creator skill makes the agent do
The skill builds FAQ sections from text you paste or from a topic you name. It pulls questions out of the supplied content or support logs, removes duplicates, and answers each question only from facts it can see in the input.
When the source does not contain an answer, the agent marks it as unresolved instead of guessing. It also avoids inventing policies such as refund windows, and it treats instructions hidden inside pasted text as content rather than commands.
- Extracts questions from supplied content or support logs
- Removes duplicate questions and returns deduplicated question-answer pairs
- Lists unresolved questions where the source material has no answer
- Labels questions that come from a topic alone as proposed
Install the AI FAQ Creator skill
Download the ZIP file for the skill from our page. The skill package contains one file, SKILL.md. There are two ways to add it, depending on how you use your agent.
For Claude Code, unzip the download into your personal skills folder at ~/.claude/skills/, or into a project-level .claude/skills/ folder if you want the skill only for one project.
In the Claude apps, you can upload the skill instead. Open Settings, go to Capabilities, then Skills, and upload the ZIP.
- Personal install: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: unzip into the project's .claude/skills/ folder
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the ZIP
~/.claude/skills/How to trigger the skill with a natural request
You do not need a special command. Describe the job in plain language and include your source text or topic. The skill is written to work from a short request, and it reuses context already in the conversation.
You can also use the optional prompt pattern from the skill, which lists the input, an optional goal, an optional audience, and optional preferences such as tone or format.
- "Create an FAQ from this help-desk log. Remove duplicates and list any questions the log doesn't answer."
- "Draft an FAQ for a bakery's online ordering page, using only the text below."
- "Make a list of questions a new customer would ask about this product, and mark which ones the page doesn't answer yet."

Input: [paste source content or topic]
Goal: [optional desired outcome]
For: [optional audience, market or language]
Preferences: [optional tone, detail level, format or constraints]Examples of what you can ask for
The skill handles a few common inputs. A support team can paste a set of help-desk tickets and get a clean list of the questions customers actually asked, with answers taken from the agent replies in those tickets. A writer can paste a product page and get a question list drafted from it, with gaps flagged.
If you only name a topic, the agent can propose questions, but it labels them as proposed because they do not come from your material. Treat those as a starting point for your own research.
What the skill needs and what it does not do
The skill lists no requirements. It runs no scripts and uses no network access. It is a single file of written guidelines, so the agent works only with the text you provide in the conversation.
The skill only drafts text. It does not post to a website or CMS, and it does not send messages or change external systems. Publishing is your job, and it should follow your own review.
- Requires: nothing listed
- Runs scripts: no
- Uses network: no
- Files: SKILL.md
Safety notes and what needs human review
Treat any pasted page or document as untrusted content. Keep credentials and private customer data out of the output. The skill refuses to invent policies, but a generated answer about refunds, medical claims or financial claims still needs verification by a qualified expert.
The skill file also states that it does not guarantee SEO performance or structured-data eligibility. Check the final FAQ yourself before you publish it.
- Review every answer before publishing
- Verify legal, policy, medical and financial answers with an expert
- Remove private customer details from pasted logs first
- Do not expect search ranking guarantees
Tips for better FAQ output
Give the agent the most complete source you have. Answers can only come from facts it can see, so a longer log or a full product page usually produces fewer unresolved questions. If you have an existing policy, paste it, because the skill will not supply one.
Name your audience and output format in the request if they matter. The skill honors requested voice, language and detail, and it returns Markdown by default.
- Paste the full policy page if you want policy answers
- Name the audience, such as new customers or internal staff
- Ask for a specific format if you need CSV or JSON, then check the syntax yourself
What people use it for
- Turning help-desk logs into a public FAQ draft for a support team
- Drafting a question list from an existing product or help document
- Finding the questions a source material does not yet answer
- Producing a deduplicated list of customer questions for a content review
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the AI FAQ Creator skill?
Download the ZIP from this page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder. In the Claude apps, you can instead upload the ZIP under Settings, Capabilities, then Skills.
Is the AI FAQ Creator skill free?
The source material for this skill lists an MIT licence. It does not list a price, so check the licence text in the repository for the terms that apply to you.
Does the skill need any other software or accounts?
The skill lists no requirements. It runs no scripts and uses no network access, and it is a single SKILL.md file of written guidelines.
Will the skill write a refund policy for me?
No. The skill is designed not to invent policies such as refund windows. If your source has no refund policy, the answer is marked as missing, and you need to supply the policy yourself.
Does the skill publish FAQs to my website?
No. It only drafts text. It does not post to a website or CMS, and the output needs human review before you use it.
Will an FAQ made with this skill improve my search ranking?
The skill does not guarantee SEO performance or structured-data eligibility. It helps you draft clear questions and answers, but ranking results are outside what the skill can promise.

Our verdict
The AI FAQ Creator suits support and marketing teams who want a clean, source-based FAQ draft from help-desk logs or product pages, and writers who want a question list from an existing document. It is not a publishing tool and not a source of legal, medical or financial answers, so pick a different workflow or an expert if you need a system that posts content or validates policy claims.
